2015 All-Star Stitches #25: Aroldis Chapman

5 01 2017

I got 13 cards toward this set as part of the COMC Black Friday set.  Actually, I bought 16, but I realized too late that I’d double dipped for 3 cards!

As a reminder, I went to the All-Star game and Home Run Derby in Cincinnati.  So I’m collecting this All-Star Stitches set!  These cards that have swatches from the Monday practice festivities.

The Cuban Missile is the 25th card toward this set.  And my first Redleg!

Card number:  STIT-AC

Player:  Aroldis Chapman

How I got the card:  COMC in December (Black Friday)

Position:  Pitcher

How he made the roster:  Chapman was voted in as one of the 3 relievers on the player ballot.

This was his 4th All-Star selection.

First half stat line:  3-3/1.69/65, 18 SV

All-Star game:  Chapman came into the top of the 9th and didn’t just keep the NL deficit at bay – he electrified the home crowd!  Chapman struck out all 3 batters he faced, on 14 pitches.  It was probably my favorite moment of the game.
