2002 Topps Wire-to-Wire Reds Cards

The number of guys from the 1990 World Series team went up to 6 in the 2001 Topps set.  It decreased by 2 in 2002.

There were 2 players gone after having cards in the 2001 set:

  • Jeff Reed played his last game in MLB in 2000, though he made the 2001 Topps set for his last card as a non-roster Spring Training invitee for the Astros that year.  He
  • After being gone for a few years from the flagship Topps set, Joe Oliver was back in 2001 Topps with the Brewers.  This was his last Topps card, though he was in Topps Total in 2002 – shown with the Red Sox.

Lou Piniella, Barry Larkin, Paul O’Neill and Eric Davis were all back in the Topps set – though 2002 would be the last cards for O’Neill and Davis.

Each guy had 3 parallel cards – Topps Gold, Limited Edition and HTA.  There were no subset cards or insert cards with these guys.
